Companies are switching their advertising to English newspapers to attract young, trilingual Malaysians. But to save their declining advertising sales, we learned that Nanyang Xiang Pau had a strong standing readership at the south, while China Press had the north. Together they had 420,000 readers nationwide, which made them more competitive than any other newspaper.
