This year, The One Show is making space for it.
With a new category focused on AI integration in creative ecosystems, they’re not just riding the wave—
they’re helping shape where it goes next.We’ll see bold entries.
Experimental work.
Even uncommissioned ideas that test the edge of what’s possible, free from the usual rules.
That’s exciting. But it also tells us something else:
We’re not fully ready for AI. Not yet.What is our resistance?
Is it about values, originality, or credit?
While we try to agree on all that, we risk losing something more valuable: time.
Time is a currency we never get back.We can spend it debating.
Or we can use it to rethink what’s next—
Because AI and humans aren’t meant to compete.
They’re meant to create together.AI is fast, but it can’t create authenticity.
Humans can—because our business is to sell to humans.
And people are built with a radar to spot fakes from a mile away.
That’s why both matter.
And yes, both deserve value.AI isn’t a cheap machine—it works best in human hands.
The craft of AI and humans is priceless.
It looks easy now because it’s been trained with a massive time investment.
Picasso once said, “It took me 40 years to do that in 30 seconds.”
Same with AI—it didn’t just arrive yesterday.So, here’s my take:

I’ve watched my dad wrestle with being outdated and an outcast.
